DES MOINES, Iowa – A police pursuit overnight topped speeds of 100 miles per hour.

An officer tried to pull over Alexandra Gealow for not having license plates near the 3500 block of Oxford Street at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Police said she took off south in the stolen SUV and got onto Interstate-235.

When the 22-year-old got off the interstate, officers boxed her in but they say she got out and ran.

Police caught her after a short chase.

When police asked about the stolen SUV, Gealow allegedly told them she paid for it with meth.

Gealow has been charged with theft and several drug and traffic violations.
