DES MOINES, Iowa – Rain showers haven’t put off visitors as the Des Moines Arts Festival got underway at Western Gateway Park Friday.

Crews have been putting the finishing touches on the event the past few days. On offer will be some of the best art you’ll find in the entire country.

In addition to art, there’s live music all weekend including 10,000 Maniacs Friday night and BoDeans on Saturday.

Also, stop by any one of the food booths and the Iowa Craft Beer Tent.

There are also some new multimedia aspects this year.

“We’re going to have social media streaming so people can see and interact a little bit more during the festival,” Liz Adelman said.

You can share your experiences of the festival using the hashtags #DMAF2014 and #GoWhereItTakesYou.

The Des Moines Arts Festival runs through Sunday.
