Body of Teenager Swept Away By Floodwater Found in Lake

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Officials have recovered the body of a teenager swept away by floodwater Monday night.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that 17-year-old Logan Blake was swept into a storm sewer, located near Arthur Elementary School, while playing frisbee with friends. A second teenager, 17-year-old David Bliss, attempted to retrieve his friend but was also pulled into the drain by storm runoff. Bliss traveled more than a mile through the storm sewer system and ended up in Cedar Lake. Bliss then walked to a nearby hospital for help.

Blake's body was found in Cedar Lake on Tuesday afternoon.

Well since the article didn’t even remotely state they were playing in the river or lake, your comment is unnecessary. They were playing & one got swept away in a drain while the other boy tried to save him! Praying for the boys family & friends & also for the boy that tried to save his life. RIP
