CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Officials have recovered the body of a teenager swept away by floodwater Monday night.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that 17-year-old Logan Blake was swept into a storm sewer, located near Arthur Elementary School, while playing frisbee with friends. A second teenager, 17-year-old David Bliss, attempted to retrieve his friend but was also pulled into the drain by storm runoff. Bliss traveled more than a mile through the storm sewer system and ended up in Cedar Lake. Bliss then walked to a nearby hospital for help.
Blake’s body was found in Cedar Lake on Tuesday afternoon.
