DES MOINES, Iowa – Roads have been closed in downtown Des Moines for the annual, two day 80/35 Music Festival.
Set-up is in full swing at Western Gateway Park. Organizers say they’re using plywood under the heavy equipment to manage the soggy ground.
In addition to the main stage there are two free stages. There’s also a new Generation Z stage this year.
“The biggest new thing we have is that we are collaborating with some of the youth music programs and we’re going to have a youth stage running during set breaks on the west side of Locust,” organizer Amedeo Rossi said.
Generation Z encompasses performers born between 1995 and 2005.
Tickets are still available for the festival that runs both Friday and Saturday.
This is the seventh year for the event.
