Sheriff’s Deputy, Prisoner Uninjured in Afternoon Crash

deputy axDES MOINES, Iowa – A Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy and the prisoner he was transporting were involved in a crash Monday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 1:30 p.m. near the 1100 block of East Army Post Road. Officials say the cars suffered minor damage.

An inmate in an orange jumpsuit was transferred to another police vehicle for security reasons while an accident report was made.

There were no injuries.

    That is A Busy, Terrible Intersection there. Needs to be a Sign For that Center Lane Heading East Moved Further ahead then what it is. If You Don’t know that that Center lane is for Forward / East towards the Bypass .. Then its Very easy, and I’ve seen it many times, People cut right over in front of you to get to it.
