DES MOINES, Iowa–Iowa Governor Terry Branstad praised a program to help students while also getting a bit nostalgic about an old song. “I think it’s a neat program,” Branstad said about of United Way of Central Iowa sponsored program to help lower-income students learn over the summer months. The program happens to be called Summer in the City.

“I think I remember an old song, ‘Summer in the City,'” the governor said, refraining from singing a few bars.

But feel free to sing along with The Lovin’ Spoonful’s 1966 version.
