BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa -- The suspect in an abduction Wednesday evening that prompted an Amber Alert has been charged with murder.
Shaun Hogan, 36, is accused of killing 29-year-old Crystal Gaffney. Officials found Gaffney's body in rural Linn County on Wednesday morning.
Hogan was listed as the possible abductor in the Amber Alert that was issued late Wednesday night. The three girls were later found safe. Officials said Gaffney is the mother of the three girls, Hogan is the father of one.
The Amber Alert was issued out of Black Hawk County at about 10 p.m. Wednesday night. Police were looking for three girls aged between eight months old and 8-years-old. They were reported missing at 3 p.m. Wednesday but were found safe in Waterloo.
Hogan was located in a Waterloo apartment Thursday afternoon. He is currently being held in the Linn County Jail without bond.
