SILVIS, Illinois — Zach Johnson again shows how much he feels at home. He’s on the John Deere Classic board of directors and atop the leaderboard.
Johnson with a 7:40 a.m. tee time of hole 10 and the 2012 champ got right to work. Zach with birdies on 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16.
On 17, Zach with his third shot on the par 5 and he sticks it a foot and a half from the cup. He would tap in for his 6th birdie of the day.
He finishes at -8 under with an opening round of 63.
It’s Zach’s 21st straight round in the 60’s at the John Deere Classic. Johnson part of a three way tie for first.
