MILLS COUNTY, Iowa – The body of a man found in the Missouri River has been identified.

Last week, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Mills County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help to identify the body pulled from near the Plattsmouth Bridge in Mills County on July 1.

Authorities say the body was identified as Council Bluffs resident Robert Jensen, 49. Family members of Jensen called after reading the descriptions of the tattoos on the body, and then confirmed them in person.

A dentist was able to match his dental records.

The cause of Jensen’s death is under investigation.
