DES MOINES, Iowa — The property manager for the Navarre Building says he’s expecting another extension from the city.

Matt Funk says the Sherman Hill building will likely get two more weeks to make fixes.

He says he’s making progress it just takes times to get contractors in to do the jobs. Funk says next on the list is some ceiling repairs and asbestos removal in an old boiler room.

The city of Des Moines had originally planned to close the Navarre Building in June because of safety issues. The owner of the building, Kirk Blunck, had been receiving notices from the city that repairs needed to be done for years.

Funk says he hopes the inspection in two week is the last.
