DES MOINES, Iowa — When you think of the Iowa State Fair, you probably don’t think about scrapes or sprained ankles.

But the people at the American Red Cross do and they are asking for volunteers to help out with first aid at the fair. One-hundred and eighty spots are open at three stations, with each shift being four hours long.

State Fair volunteers must show certification of training in CPR, First Aid, and blood borne pathogens.

To register, go to www.redcross.org/ia/des-moines.

The fair starts August 7th.

Wow.. 180 spots! American Red Cross is doing some real hard work. I wish all the very best for their campaign. I would love to be there as a volunteer but unfortunately I am not in Iowa now.😦
