jokIOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa basketball player Peter Jok was arrested again Monday night.

The 20-year-old West Des Moines native was pulled over on his moped at about 11:45 p.m. Monday on campus for having an improper tail light, an arrest report shows. Officers discovered his license had been revoked and he was arrested.

That revocation stemmed from an incident on April 26 when Jok admitted to drunken driving.

Iowa’s athletics director Gary Barta released a statement on the incident Tuesday morning.

“Fran and I were made aware of the incident involving Peter Jok and a moped this morning. We don’t yet know all the facts, but we are gathering those today. I’m very disappointed to learn about this, especially in light of the fact that Peter had a previous incident earlier this summer. We will work through this in accordance to our student-athlete Code of Conduct and team rules.”

If found guilty, Jok faces up to a year in jail and a fine ranging from $250 to $1,500.

Jok played in 27 games as a freshman and averaged 4.4 points.
