Local Race Company Helping Hard Charge Participants

DES MOINES, Iowa — A local racing organizing is stepping up to help.

Last week we told you about a Hard Charge race scheduled in Des Moines for August.

The company emailed participants saying they were canceling the event and ceasing all business operations.

Also, all the participants were out their registration fee they thought was going to help Children’s Miracle Network.

This week Capital Striders stepped up to help.

The local Des Moines running group is offering free entry into one of its three remaining races.

To receive the free entry, the Capital Striders ask that the affected individuals send an email to membership@capitalstriders.org, with a copy of their mud race entry confirmation. The Capital Striders will then provide them an entry code for the race of their choice.

The Capital Striders have the following three remaining races this year, two trail races and one road race:

1) Maffitt Lake Trail Run, September 6, 2014, Maffitt Lake southwest of Des Moines, IA.  5 and 10 mile options.

2) Capital Pursuit, September 21, 2014, Downtown Des Moines. 5k and 10 mile options.

3) Sycamore 8 Trail Run, First weekend in December, Johnston, Iowa. 8 miles.
