DES MOINES, Iowa -- Thousands of people spent their Friday night being inspired by a best-selling author and the pastor of the largest church in America.

Joel Osteen brought his Night of Hope tour to Des Moines' Wells Fargo Arena.

His books and motivational speeches have made Osteen and his wife, Victoria, favorites among many Christians. Osteen told us his hope for his audience beyond Friday night's event.

"I'd like them to get plugged into a good church so they can grow, but you know I really want them to have a relationship with God in their everyday life not just in the Sunday morning box but to realize hey I can talk to God all through the day.  God wants to be my friend.  He wants to be involved in my life,” says Osteen.

The pastor is Dan Winters’ guest for this Sunday’s Three Minutes in the Chair segment on the Channel 13 News at Ten.

The topics will range from matters of the heart, the next book he has in the works, and where money intersects with ministry.
