NEWTON, Iowa — The woman charged in the infamous Copper Dollar Ranch murders wants her trial moved out of Jasper County.

Terri Supino is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 20-year-old Steven Fisher and 17-year-old Melisa Gregory at the Jasper County ranch in 1983. Fisher was Supino’s estranged husband, and Gregory was his new girlfriend.

A nationally televised crime show helped investigators break open the case and led to Supino’s arrest in February.

Supino wants her trial moved because of pretrial publicity.

A hearing on the change of venue motion is scheduled for August 27th.
