FORT DODGE – Johnston gets revenge.  After losing in the 5A title game a year ago the Dragons leave no doubt, cruising past SE Polk 10-2 to win their 2nd softball championship in school history.

Freshman Brooke Wilmes with the hit of the game, a grand slam in the 2nd inning to put Johnston up 5-0.



In Class 4A it was all Dallas Center-Grimes.  Paige Lowary’s brilliant career comes to an end in style.  The future Missouri Tiger pitched a complete game 2-hitter as the Fillies beat Solon 5-0.

It’s back to back titles for DC-G.

Jackie Peyton and Lexi Rosa each hit homeruns for the Fillies.


Game of the day came in Class 3A, a rematch of a year ago,  Bondurant-Farrar taking on Clarke.

The Lady Indians jumped out to a 6-1 lead, but the Lady Jays came all the way back to tie it in the 7th.  Annika Ekstam delivered the game tying RBI.

But in the bottom of the 7th Carly Robins ended it with 1 swing, a walk-off homerun,  Clarke wins the 3A title 7-6 over Bondurant-Farrar.



Class 2A was all Earlham.  Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and held on for the 6-4 win.

Akron Westfield repeats as 1A champs, beating Kee High, 12-1
