Baez became the first player in Chicago Cubs history to hit an extra-innings home run in his Major League debut.
The 21-year-old homered in the 12th inning as the Cubs beat the Rockies in Colorado, 6-5.
Baez is the first player to hit a go-ahead home run in a MLB debut since Kent Hrbek of the Twins in 1981, 33 years ago.
Baez started the season as the Cubs’ top prospect. He struck out three times before that hit.
