John Stoddard is the first cancer center in central Iowa to be granted the top-level, three-year accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers, making it one of the nation’s top breast cancer care centers.

Dr. Scott Hamling, The Iowa Clinic says, "Each year at John Stoddard we treat 1600 cancer patients, 300 of which are breast cancer patients. Being granted this accreditation means we have exceeded national standards and provide top-quality breast care right here in Des Moines."

This accreditation ensures that patients with breast cancer have access to the most comprehensive care and state-of-the-art services available, individualized treatment plans coordinated across multiple specialties, information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options and top-quality breast care close to home.

Dr. Hamling says, "They evaluated everything we do and compared our results to national standards. This showed that breast cancer care at John Stoddard is above and beyond any benchmarks that have been set out nationally."
