DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines’ downtown farmers’ market has been ranked as one the best in the country, but we already knew that.

For the second consecutive year, the website Daily Meal says Des Moines has the second best farmers’ market.

Pike Place farmers’ market in Seattle topped the list.

Judges considered the quality and affordability of the products and its location made up some of the things judges consider.

The market, which began in 1975, hosts nearly 300 vendors and is held every Saturday this year until October 25.
