Des-Moines-AirportDES MOINES, Iowa – The Des Moines Airport is fixing a 25-foot hole in the middle of one of its runways.

On July 29th, a small depression developed along a runway and while opening the pavement to investigate officials say there was a total collapse of the pavement which created the 25-foot void.

Authorities said a ruptured 1947 storm water line is to blame.  The estimated cost of the repairs is $250,000.
