Two Dead in Highway 30 Crash in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY, Iowa — Two people were killed in a Boone County traffic accident Monday.

Sgt. Scott Bright with the Iowa State Patrol says the incident happened around the noon hour at the intersection of Highway 30 and T Avenue. A vehicle traveling on T Avenue stopped at the stop sign, then inched out into traffic where it was hit by another vehicle traveling on Highway 30.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit and a passenger died at the scene. A second passenger in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The other driver was not injured.

Officials have not released the names of those killed, pending notification of their families.
