Fire Destroys St. Charles Home

WARREN COUNTY, Iowa -- Crews battled a house fire in St. Charles Tuesday morning.

A neighbor called it in shortly before 5 a.m. She told Channel 13 News she heard a popping sound around 3 a.m. and saw sparks on the roof of the home an hour later. When crews arrived at the home on South Lumbar and West Clanton Street it was fully engulfed.

Along with St. Charles firefighters, units from Winterset, Truro and Madison County responded.

The resident was working at the time of the fire. His home is insured.
