State Representative Charged with Sexual Abuse

Henry-RayhonsGARNER, Iowa – A member of the Iowa legislature has been charged with sexual abuse following an incident at a long term care facility.

Henry Rayhons, 78, of Garner, has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse. Rayhons is the representative from Iowa House District 8.

On the evening of May 23, the Garner Police Department responded to a report of sexual abuse at the Concord Care Center. According to the criminal complaint, Henry Rayhons, 78, is accused of performing a sex act against a woman  who was suffering from a mental defect or incapacity. The complaint states that Rayhons had been told the victim did not have cognitive ability to give consent to any sexual activity.

He is being held in the Hancock County Jail on $10,000 bond. The case has been referred to the Iowa Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.

    Let’s try posting this again as the other one went???? I see the complaint has now been now published. Is the female that is referred to by initials only, DR, his wife? There is always a lot more to the story than what gets published. Were some other family issues going on??? 3:39p.m.

    Now that you’ve gone against what you were told to do maybe keep it in your pants old man. Even if it was your wife she didn’t have the mental ability to say no and you knew it.

    This “victim” was his wife who he is still mourning the loss of. He loved her very much. Fix your words. Shame on you for writing this the way you did.
