IOWA CITY, Iowa-- More than 12,000 fans made their way through the gates for the annual Kids Day at Kinnick.   Prior to the Hawkeye's practice and scrimmage, players met with fans in the stands to sign some autographs.

On the field, the Hawks looked a little banged up.

Coach Kirk Ferentz announced that fullback Adam Cox had season ending ACL Surgery this week.  Freshman Wide Receiver Derek Willies sat out of today's scrimmage, and Running Back Mark Weisman saw very few touches.

Fall camp injuries have taken their toll on the team says Coach Ferentz.  "It's really hard to establish continuity.  It's hard for us to move forward when you've got that many guys out," he says.

The Hawkeyes are now two weeks away from their first game of the season.  Northern Iowa rolls into Iowa City on August 30th.

"We've got to be more consistent," Senior Defensive Lineman Carl Davis says, "that's what the last week of camp is all about."
