CLIVE, Iowa – The city of Clive has announced it is scrapping its plans to build a multi-million dollar town center.
The city was planning to put the center on 114th Street between Mercy West and the Clive Aquatic Center. It would have been the home of the police department, city hall and private apartments.
After reviewing the $18.5 million proposal, the city says the project is not financial viable at this time.
The city council will discuss what to do with the ten acres that was set aside for the town center project. The assistant city manager said it may be sold to a private developer.
