Iowa State Names Starting Quarterback

AMES, Iowa - With less than two weeks until the season begins, the Iowa State Cyclones have named their starting quarterback.

Sam Richardson will be the Cyclones starter when they open the season August 30 hosting North Dakoka State at Jack Trice Stadium.

Richardson, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound junior, completed 121 of 220 passes for 1,397 yards and seven touchdowns while playing 11 games during the 3-9 2013 season, the Des Moines Register reports.
