WEBSTER COUNTY, Iowa – Law enforcement continue to search for a man who escaped from the Webster County Jail in Fort Dodge Thursday night.

The Webster County Sheriff's Office said Jason Sullivan and George Johnson escaped from the jail at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

Officials said Sullivan and Johnson were doing laundry and moved a commercial dryer to get into a small, locked room. From there, they damaged a small vent opening to slide through it. They then tied sheets together to lower themselves half-way down to drop the rest of the way into an alley.

Johnson was hurt during the escape and was quickly taken into custody. Sullivan is still loose.

Sullivan was facing felony charges of domestic abuse and false imprisonment. Johnson was booked on charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and a parole violation.

The sheriff's office says they will both now be charged with felony escape. If you see Sullivan, call the Webster County Sheriff's Office at 515-573-1410.
