Unresponsive Child Taken to Hospital, Man Charged with Child Endangerment

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - A Marshalltown man is facing a child endangerment charge after an unresponsive child was taken to the hospital.

According to police, paramedics responded to a home in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Marshalltown on Wednesday afternoon for a report of an unresponsive child.

The child was transported by ambulance to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center for treatment. The child was then transported by Air Ambulance to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. The child's condition is not being released at this time.

Branden Collins, 28, of Marshalltown, has been charged with felony child endangerment, possession of a schedule 1 and drug paraphernalia.

He is being held in the Marshall County Jail on $50,000 bond.
