Hawkeyes Outlast UNI in Opener

IOWA CITY, Iowa– The last time UNI beat Iowa Nile Kinnick wasn’t even born yet.

Once again, the Panthers, David Johnson, shined against an in-state team that passed on him. Johnson had 237 total yards, 201 of those receiving, but it wasn’t enough.

Iowa used a balanced offensive attack with 13 different players catching a pass and 7 with at least one carry. It will be much easier for the Hawks to watch this weeks game film with a 1-0 record. Iowa wins 31-23.
