Propeller Seriously Injured Leg of Iowa Boater

MUSCATINE, Iowa–A Muscatine man is recovering after authorities say he fell out of a boat and then the boat’s motor propeller seriously injured his leg.

The Department of Natural Resources issued a news release that said Matt Peterson, 33, had been boating Saturday night on the Mississippi River west of Fairport when he fell out of the boat. The release did not say what caused Peterson to fall. But he is recovering at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
