Drought Conditions Improve Across Iowa

drought-reportDES MOINES, Iowa – Drought conditions across Iowa have improved following last week’s rain.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report released Thursday indicates abnormally dry conditions exist in a small area of east-central Iowa. The remainder of the state is at normal moisture conditions. Last week, 17 percent of the state was experiencing abnormally dry conditions.

Just three months ago, more than 55 percent of the state was experiencing low-end drought conditions.

The National Drought Mitigation Center releases the drought monitor report each Thursday.
