CLARION, Iowa — Closing arguments are set to begin Friday in the murder trial of 33-year-old Corey Trott.
He’s charged with first degree murder in the death of Rockwell City police officer Jamie Buenting last September.
Buenting was shot and killed trying to serve an arrest warrant for Trott at his home.
Trott pleaded not guilty and opted to move forward with a trial despite admitting to the shooting during a police interview.
The trial is being held in Wright County because of pre-trial publicity.
