Firefighters respond to a house fire on Oxford Street Monday morning (WHO-HD)

DES MOINES, Iowa — Fire crews were called out to a house fire early Monday morning.

An adult and two teens were at home when flames broke out.

Firefighters were called out at about 4 a.m. to 3012 Oxford Street in Des Moines.

The fire chief says the fire was in the basement and it was quickly put out.

Smoke caused about $7,500 of damage inside the home.

The occupants of the home were able to make it out. One suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for evaluation.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
