Theresa Supino (WHO-HD)

JASPER COUNTY, Iowa — The trial date has been set in a 31-year old murder investigation.

Fifty-four-year-old Theresa Supino is charged with two counts of murder. She appeared in court Monday morning for a preliminary hearing.

Supino is accused of killing her estranged husband, 20-year-old Steven Fisher, and his new girlfriend, 17-year-old Melissa Gregory, in 1983 in Jasper County. The killings became known as the Copper Dollar Ranch murders.

The case went unsolved for years until investigators with the TNT show “Cold Justice” joined the investigation in February. After re-interviewing possible witnesses, Jasper County authorities finally decided they had enough evidence to charge Supino with the crime.

Because of pretrial publicity the trial has been moved to Black Hawk County.  It is scheduled to begin on February 2nd.

If true, I gotta wonder if their case is all that solid,,,
