JOHNSTON, Iowa – Johnston soccer stud, Elvir Ibisevic got an early Christmas present this week accepting an invitation into the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program.

Ibisevic will represent Region II in Bradenton, Florida starting January 4th. It’s a big honor, but also a big loss for the Johnston soccer program. As a sophomore, Ibisevic scored 20 goals for the 2014 State Runners-up.

He’s following in his cousin, Vedad’s footsteps. Vedad played for the Bosnian World Cup team this past summer.

Below is a story we aired on June 2nd about Ibisevic’s soccer bloodline.
