IOWA CITY – You could not have written a better script for Senior day in Iowa City for the 17th ranked Hawkeye womens basketball team.

Iowa beat Minnesota 92-76 in front of more than 9,000 screaming fans.

Seniors Samantha Logic, Melissa Dixon, Kathryn Reynolds, and Bethany Doolittle put on a show.

Dixon, the greatest shooter in Iowa history, finished with 27 points, 8 three pointers.  Doolittle almost notched a tripled double scoring 12 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking 9 shots.
And then there’s Logic, who one could argue is the best all-around Hawkeye womens basketball player, ever.  Logic finished with 24 points 13 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Reynolds, who suffered a torn ACL after her freshman season, rarely plays, but today she got in, took 1 shot, and buried a 3.  It was that kind of day.

“Amazing,” says Lisa Bluder.

Iowa is the 2-seed in the upcoming Big 10 womens basketball tournament.  The Hawkeyes finished the regular season 23-6 overall, and are a lock for the NCAA tournament.  The only question that remains is what will their seed be and will they host a game at Carver?

Stay tuned.
