URBANDALE, Iowa – Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) students received real world experience Monday as part of a class.
The students in the Fire Science program went through live fire training in Urbandale. The training included finding and rescuing a victim inside the burning building.
The training scenarios were set up for at the Urbandale Fire Department.
Instructors said the training is as close to real world scenarios as they can get.
There are nearly 60 students in the Fire Science program at DMACC, and this was the second time the first-year students did the live fire training.
