DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines police were involved in a standoff at a southside home Sunday night.

According to the Des Moines Register police say they responded to a call about a gunshot inside a home in the 600 block of Gray Street around 11 p.m.

The caller escaped to the roof of the home until the suspect inside eventually gave up after being surrounded by police for about two hours, police said.

Cletio Ray Clark, 25, of Des Moines was arrested on charges of assault/use display of dangerous weapon, possession if weapon as a felon and intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Police believe the incident stemmed from Clark being upset about a recent breakup.

Clark was booked into the Polk County Jail at 5:17 a.m. on a $17,000 bond.

A neighbor's home was hit by at least one bullet.
