WINTERSET, Iowa - If you're looking for something to do with the family this Memorial Day weekend, Winterset wants you to consider checking out its newest attraction.

The John Wayne Birthplace Museum, a $2.5 million project, will open to the public Saturday after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. The museum features all things John Wayne, dividing memorabilia and artifacts from his time into different sections that focus on specific aspects of his life; his role as a husband and father, his life as an actor, and his time spent as a political activist are all highlighted in the museum.

The museum sits across the street from the house John Wayne was born in, too.
