Woman Dies Following Crash in Hancock County

GARNER, Iowa — A Garner woman is dead and three others are injured after a three-car accident in Hancock County.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday along highway 18, east of Garner.

The Iowa State Patrol said 55-year-old Darla Asche was driving westbound, when she crossed the center line, striking two oncoming vehicles.

Asche hit an eastbound van driven by Norma Lovstad of Burt. That van ended up in the dich.

She then hit a 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Megan Brood of Rockwell head-on.

Asche and three others were taken to the hospital, where Asche died of her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
