HARRISON COUNTY, Missouri — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri has confirmed the body of a man found in a burned out SUV earlier this week is that of 33-year-old Elvis Habibovic of Urbandale.

Habibovic and his 9-month-old son, Logan Habibovic, were the subjects of an Amber Alert issued early Wednesday morning.

Melissa Zeimet, the child’s mother, reported that Elvis had not brought her son back at the agreed upon time of 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night and contacted police. After an investigation into the situation, authorities put out a public Amber Alert around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

1_mug_habibovic_loganShortly after the alert was issued Missouri State Highway Patrol contacted Urbandale police about a vehicle matching the description found in a conservation area in Harrison County Tuesday night around 8:40 p.m. The bodies of an adult and a baby were found inside the fire-ravaged SUV.

Officials now say dental records have shown the adult in the vehicle was Elvis Habibovic. DNA tests are being performed to confirm the identity of the baby in the SUV. The results of those tests could take more than a week.
