DES MOINES, Iowa -- When it comes to politics in the state's largest county over the past decade, there is very little the executive director of the Polk County Democrats hasn't been able to watch firsthand.
Now, she's putting some of her experiences down on paper. Tamyra Harrison's new book, "Diary of a Des Moines Democrat," covers some of the biggest political events in Polk County since 2004. It's filled with Harrison's memories and pictures of events, activists, and of course, presidential candidates.
Harrison will host her first book-signing. It will take place at Plain Talk Books & Coffee in Des Moines, Friday, July 24th, from 6-8p.m.
Political Director Dave Price sat down with Harrison to talk about those experiences and how she's trying to influence Iowa's students to get involved in politics.
