DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines City Council is considering replacing a portion of the downtown skywalk.

The skywalks between the Partnership building and the Hub Tower were damaged during the Younkers building fire last year.

A temporary walkway is being built now.

During Monday night’s meeting the council discussed a permanent replacement. Bids will be accepted until August 25th and a public hearing is expected on September 14th.

The replacement would cost an estimated $442,000.
