INDIANOLA, Iowa - If you own or are starting a small business in Warren County, the Warren County Economic Development Corp. wants to help you succeed.

It's the second annual Warren County Small Business Grant contest, and it just started Monday. Open through Monday, September 14, small business owners and start-up business owners can apply to receive a grant for $6,000 or $3,000, respectively. Three finalists in both the "Existing Business" and "Start-Up Business" categories will be chosen by Friday, September 18 to present their business ideas to a panel of judges at a "Grant Event" on Friday, October 9 at Simpson College.

Last year, grants were awarded to Norwalk Chiropractic in the existing business category, and to Studio Fusco in the start-up business category. The owner of Norwalk Chiropractic used the $6,000 grant to help with expansion, along with new building plans in Norwalk.

The owners of Studio Fusco used the $3,000 toward opening a new store in the Indianola town square. Warren County Economic Development Corp. officials say both businesses are currently enjoying a successful year with continued plans for growth.

The grant contest is part of the Warren County Economic Development's Learn|Grow|Succeed small business support initiative.  To apply, click here.
