Possible Child Enticement Reported in Grimes

GRIMES, Iowa — Polk County deputies took a report of a possible child enticement case in Grimes, Wednesday afternoon.

The caller said her daughter, who is in 8th grade reported that when she got off the school bus at about 1:30 p.m. she noticed a red (possibly 2005) minivan stop in the street next to her.

The driver of the van, described only as a white, heavy set female with long black hair asked the girl if she needed a ride. After the girl told her “no” the van drove off.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the driver or vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help. If anyone witnessed this incident, seen the person/vehicle involved or has any additional information, they are asked to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at (515) 286-3333.
