Demolition underway on the 7th Street Parking ramp (Roger Riley WHO-HD)

DES MOINES, Iowa- Seventh Street is closed from Grand to Watson Powell for the demolition of the 7th street parking ramp. The project will rebuild a new ramp on the current spot of the old one.  Construction is scheduled to go on until winter of 2017. 7th is scheduled to be shut down until March of 2016, after opening lanes will be restricted.

The demolition is expected to impact sky walks at times, some which may have to be closed. Also DART bus routes will be changed around 7th street.

Another project underway, also along Grand, where Kum and Go headquarters will be built. Fence has gone up around the site, and workers are prepping buildings now on the site.

Kum and Go announced the Renzo Piano Building Workshop would design the building. Construction is by the Ryan Companies, the building is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
