FORT DODGE, Iowa -- Sen. Ted Cruz is back in Iowa to continue his campaign for the White House.

Cruz is spending three days in Iowa working to gain the support of Republican voters.

During remarks to the media Cruz said he is looking forward to the Democratic Debate this week.

"It may be more questions than Hillary Question has answered this entire campaign," said Cruz. The subject of Donald Trump always comes up in media interviews with the Texas Senator.

"I like Donald Trump, when everybody else has gone out of their way to smack Donald Trump, I have not," said Cruz. "I’m glad he’s running for President. But I’ve also said I'm running for president and I believe I’m going to be the nominee."

Cruz is also to appear in Rockwell City, Sac City and finishes out Monday’s events with a rally in Sioux City with Sen. Chuck Grassley and Congressman Steve King.

Cruz places third in the latest CBS poll of Republican presidential candidates, behind Donald Trump and Ben Carson.
