Suspect in Double Vehicular Homicide Case Pleads Not Guilty

DES MOINES, Iowa — The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run was in court Wednesday morning to enter her plea.

Deanna Gliem pleaded not guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide by OWI. Police say Deanna Gliem was driving while drunk last November when she hit and killed a vehicle carrying Rick Hummel and Randy Sonnenburg as they turned on to Hubbell Avenue.

Officers believe she was intoxicated and going twice the speed limit at the time.

Gliem’s trial date has also been set for March 7th.
