DES MOINES, Iowa — Today will be cloudy with drizzle at times and some light snow.  Temperatures will vary across the state with highs in the metro staying in the 30s.

Northern Iowa will be a little cooler and that is where we will see some freezing drizzle possible. All should remain light. The heaviest snow will be during the evening commute with under one inch possible.

More rain is expected on Thursday and Friday. Through Friday morning, some parts of southern Iowa may see up to a half inch of rain. Cold air pushes in Friday night through Saturday. This will lead to snow fall across the state with 1 to 3″ possible through early Saturday morning.

Temperatures will be much colder for the weekend with highs in the teens and overnight lows in the single digits.
