NBC Sports revealed their choices for college basketball midseason All-American teams on Wednesday.
Unsurprisingly, Iowa State’s Georges Niang and Iowa’s Jarrod Uthoff were both recognized. Niang landed on the first team while Uthoff was named to the second team.
The Cyclone forward is averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, while shooting 55 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range this season. Niang is second in the Big 12 in scoring and win shares.
The Hawkeye forward has also put up sensational numbers as he’s averaging 18.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 blocks, to go along with 50 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent from behind the arc this year. Uthoff is currently first in the Big Ten in scoring and blocks.
The No. 13 Cyclones are 11-2 on the season and the No. 19 Hawkeyes are 12-3.
